“I Was Always Right to Bet on Myself” — Andreas ahead of his ONE debut

For Andreas, the opportunity to compete in ONE Championship represents more than just another fight. It is confirmation that betting on himself was the right decision.

Despite getting a relatively late start in Muay Thai, Andreas continued to believe that the path he had chosen would eventually lead somewhere.

“This opportunity means that I was always right to bet on myself,” Andreas told Nordic Fight Report.

“I started lare with Muay Thai, but I was absolutely right to believe in myself. I was right to trust myself and to have hope that things would eventually make sense.”

That journey has now brought him to the biggest stage of his career so far: his first fight under the ONE Championship banner.

And while Andreas admits that everything still hasn’t quite fallen into place, the opportunity carries a deeper meaning.

“It still doesn’t make sense yet, but I know this opportunity will lead me to the right path of making sense out of life — and for that I am eternally grateful.”

I’M GONNA CHASE HIM DOWN

There is considerably less reflection when the conversation comes to the fight itself.

Andreas respects the opponent standing across from him, but is very clear about what he intends to bring into the ring.

“I know he is good, and derermined to win. I know that he will come out with all his might to get what he wants”

Andreas, however, is not planning to wait for the fight to come to him.

“I’m gonna chase him down. I want him to feel my pressure from the first bell.”

The message is clear: Andreas intends to set the pace, apply pressure and make his ONE Championship debut on his own terms.

But for Andreas, this fight is about more than simply making his ONE Championship debut.

WHAT COMES NEXT

A strong performance in his ONE Championship debut could open the door to much bigger opportunities. But Andreas is not looking beyond the task directly in front of him.

Whatever comes next, Andreas is clear about one thing: on Friday, his full focus is on the man standing across from him.

For Andreas, the road to ONE Championship has been anything but straightforward. Now that the opportunity is finally here, there is only one thing left to do — fight.
